COLLATERAL ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY WEBSITE MAINTENANCE SOCIAL MEDIA Burlington City Arts is a non-profit arts organization whose mission it is to sustain and enhance the artistic life in the greater Burlington area. A division of the City of Burlington, BCA runs and operates a contemporary art gallery and center known formerly as the Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts, now more recognizably on a national level as the BCA Center. The five-story art center features a multitude of resources for local artists and members of BCA, and on top of it all, BCA also runs a variety of classes available to the public, summer camp programs for kids, artist-in-residence programs, studios for print, clay, photography, and digital media, and also organizes some of downtown Burlington's most anticipated festivals, such as Festival of Fools and the Battery Park Free Concert Series. With 2011 being the 30th anniversary of Burlington City Arts, the rebranded BCA Center was launched, giving it the opportunity to become a nationally recognized venue, as well as the face and the future of contemporary art in Vermont. BurlingtonCityArts.org As the Art Director for BCA for close to two years, I worked as the organization's only designer, developing all printed materials for the many programs they offer, such as exhibition mailers, street posters and banners, program brochures, newspaper and magazine ads, annual reports, event invitations, exhibition catalogues for various featured shows, and many other printed materials.
I worked with different printers around the state to produce everything from published catalogues to magazine ads to giant banners to exhibition vinyl. I worked on various web updates and shot a great deal of the organization's promotional photography while I was there. I also worked on developing a new directional signage system for the rebranded BCA Center which helped to give the historical building a newer, more contemporary look and feel. |
